ARTIST HOUSING HANDYMAN
Random Rules and Responsibilities
- Looking to hire fast learners.
- Offering $15 per hour to start. $3 raises every six months thereafter.
- very flexible hours. 20 hours per week.
- Short term gigs or long term team member based on your skills. This can be a long term job with growth potential.
- Most gigs do not require prior experience or any professional license. The only downfall is that you may be rushed and micromanaged, but it's actually a very fun atmosphere, located in the heart of downtown LA, but try not to get distracted until after the work for the day is finished.
- We would even accept high school students if they are fast learners and fast working.
- This could be the dream job for the right person. Ideal for someone who needs work, especially during these times.
- Need to be self-managed.
- Need to work in and around Downtown Los Angeles. Living locally near downtown LA is a huge plus. It's not worth you driving a long time to only work a couple of hours. Also, sometimes there is a leak emergency that is good to be nearby. Besides, there is no parking. Public transit is highly encouraged. There are tools at the property as well as a giant work area.
- We need someone who is efficient and dependable.
- Work at your own leisure and schedule. Work early in the mornings or late at night, whichever you prefer.
- We provide you a list, and you knock it out any day and time at your convenience.
- If you know how to use a drill and can install TV wall mounts, replace doorknobs, sink fixtures, or light fixtures, also a giant plus, but not necessary.
- Being fast, neat, and organized is maybe the most important for these gigs.
- Each gig is 4 hours per day with no breaks (including no smoke breaks) so get a big meal in before coming.
- If you are ready right this second for a test run, come on down. Cash in hand. But first text to confirm we still need you. We don't take phone calls or listen to voicemails, so please only respond via email to [email protected] or text 818.925.LOFT.
- We need someone that can work fast to build amazon-shipped furniture, move old bulky furniture, staple LED light strips neatly to walls, troubleshoot vacuums, troubleshoot computers and routers (big plus), hang art, and clean.
- Projects will also include unclogging toilets, troubleshooting broken appliances, drywall patching, painting, and even larger scale construction projects. If you are familiar with electrical, then you pretty much have the job.
Random Rules and Responsibilities
- Follow all City and County building code regulations, use online codebooks. Leave good detail easily exposed for possible inspection.
- We need a trash can for each room near the door. Do not relocate trash cans. Each bathroom must have one next to the toilets.
- Tenants don't listen to what management says sometimes. But treat them with the most respect.
- Report people who are breaking the rules.
- It is okay for tenants to call the police and vice versa. The police help us tremendously with tenants.
- DO NOT reorganize the handyman room. Put things back where you found them. We have a regulated inventory.
- Always leave the handyman's room closed and locked.
- MONEY HANDLING PROCEDURE: fixing vending machines or laundry machines requires management supervision.
- Keep packaging and don't damage products in case we need to return them.
- When painting, MAKE SURE TO CLOSE LID FULLY AND WASH TOOLS AND BRUSHES IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD.
- Don't flush drywall paste, paint, grout, papertowels, grease or hair.
- Do in-person or virtual walkthrough inspections with management.
- Building Improvement District (people in purple shirts) respond to homeless problems and cleans front doors and properties' alleys.
- Put up and take down continually changing artwork.
- A lot of Painting.
- When you run out of things to do, clean the dirtiest part of the property.
